I was studying past life possibilities with friends when I was in college. We meditated in guided sessions and took notes or made drawings. Many eras were explored until it became like time travel. Later, I gathered notes centered in Ancient Greece and even earlier in Egypt and a story emerged. I am not sure if these were actual past lives or some sort of interesting lucid dream, but I'm certainly happy with the result of it as an endless stream of historical fantasy ideas.

The origin of the story came from discussions and meditations I had in college with my best friend. She did the drawings and took a few notes. So did I. We made the story up verbally. After we went our separate ways I wrote the story down as a document, then added other thoughts. 42 years later I published the first book

Things actually get in the way all the time. I would say I have a lot of stories to tell and I know I, unlike my characters, am not immortal. That thought provides the discipline I need.

My own... I'd like to see if my historical characters are anything like those I portray. Outside my own, maybe aboard the Pequod in Moby Dick to join a whaling adventure, or in a real Conan the Barbarian adventure

I have several books in my Kindle now. I hope to catch up on the works of friends I've met through Social Media. The list is very long, but I am always reading. Usually I read Science Fantasy, but have read Historical Fantasy, Romance, Suspense, Detective, Horror, Paranormal, and some Erotica

Actually, my Children of Stone Series IS based on some mysterious meditations friends and I recorded 40-45 years ago when we were in college.
Another mystery might be our own lives as we went on our spiritual journeys. Since that time we have kept in touch and have seen even more unfold

I just keep writing... maybe on something else... or I sketch... or do research on a topic I might want to write about. I write something every day.

Stop being negative! I can't get over how many writers keep telling themselves they CAN'T WRITE while many who REALLY can't write go right ahead. Understand that your work will never be perfect in many people's eyes and it may never be a best seller. Just do YOUR best and get it out there. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't.
Case in point: I knew a great writer who was always tinkering on her stories and DIED before she ever felt they were good enough. Don't let that be YOU.

I just live my life. I'll see something and think of it in terms of a story. Although I've never published a children's story, I recently thought of some stories for children about a new baby in the house who has Pierre Robin Sequence. (because my new granddaughter has it)
Other times I'll read a book and think of a different way to tell the story...or read the news or see an event which inspires me. Everything creates a story. As a writer, I have to find the time to write the best events down.

Children of Stone - Voices in Crystal is actually Book 1 of a 7 (or so) book series. I've been working on it off and on for about 40 years and mostly "ON" for 4 years, with Book 1 published last year and Book 2 Children of Stone - Going Forth By Day anticipated later this year.
The series came from some Psychic Research (Reincarnation & Remote Viewing) sessions friends and I conducted in the early 1970's. I did a little research and fleshed out the story line over the years.
