Hi Maryann,
There are two John Charles authors listed in Goodreads and my new book 'Zero Warning' was included in the other author's profile. Thanks for your question as it tipped me off to the error.
I've emailed the Goodreads Librarians asking for a correction. Hopefully they will make the correction within a couple of days.
'A Cold Summer Sky' is free on my web site johncharlesbooks.com and is not included on Amazon so I'm not sure how to show it on Goodreads. Let me know if you do, please

I write! Yeah, that sounds opposite to writer's block, but it's really not. Staring at a blank screen isn't going to get your mind stimulated. Writing will.
So on those rare occasions when I haven't a clue, I simply look at my outline and start writing. Usually within a few hundred words I'm back on track.
One very important thing for me is my outline. I always develop the book first. I have a very extensive development process that allows me to put the entire book together in minute detail prior to putting one word into the first chapter.

I love to write! Being able to follow my dreams is probably the most important thing to me.
Writing allows me to dream, play with words and ideas, and get paid for having fun. What better reward is there than receiving fan letters telling you how they loved your book? It's fun!

Read everything you can get your hands on in the genre you think you want to write. Learn what people want and what other authors are writing. Look at the rankings of the books you enjoyed reading. If they rank well on Amazon, then you have a chance of developing a following, too.
Learn the structure of novels. There are several books that will help you learn how to write a good book. I have read and recommend James Scott Bells books on structure and plot, K.M. Weiland's books on structure and outlining.
Have a professional cover developed for you book!!! This is so important. In today's digital world, your potential reader only sees the cover in the listings. If the cover catches his/her attention then s/he will read your story summary.
Have a fantastic story summary so s/he will read the "Look Inside"
It's baby steps that leads your potential reader to click the buy button.

The first blush title for my newest book is 11 Seconds To Revenge. This book traces a hacker as he infiltrates one of the UK's biggest communications firms. No one knows his goals, only that his hacks are getting more brazen.
Without giving the plot away, Aaron has to find the hacker and figure out how to stop him. Hackers can be in any country in the world, so his work is cut out for him.
While Aaron is investigating this criminal hacker, he is falling in love with Justin. They must navigate the sensitive life of a top secret investigator and a college student who wants to get a great job after he completes his MBA.

I would say that all or most of my books and blog posts come from real life. Each of my books has a real life connection. I read quite a lot of information articles. Some are just simple items, others are much more complex. Those tidbits of information lead to further research. My books come from those seeds.
I keep a "Book Ideas" journal in which I write the ideas I have for new books - whether silly, hot, crazy, or just plain dull. I detail all of those thoughts and let them germinate.

The idea for One Breath Brings Death came from a news article I read. The article detailed the ever growing pharmaceutical battle for new drugs and how the research and development is a costly and lengthy process. So I did some research and found that trials have some very negative results that never get publicized.
Once I had all that information, I let my mind fertilize the seeds. The resulting story is what came from that process.
