Steve Fenton When answering these questions, there is an option to: "Mark entire answer as spoiler." Imagine the situation in which this would be required. Steve Fenton I avoid the block by being available when the inspiration strikes. I don't schedule in writing time (although some people say this helps them). I find scheduled times rarely coincide with the appropriate mindset for writing. If all else fails... bullet lists!
Steve Fenton I'm primarily a technical author. The biggest benefit of writing technical books is that you learn features, techniques, and strange problems that you would never be exposed to otherwise. You also have a really smart audience when you write technical books.
Steve Fenton I always think you should write primarily for yourself. When you write in this way, you feel more freedom to use your own voice in your writing style.

Steve Fenton My writing habits are very sporadic. I tend to spend an amount of time waiting for inspiration to strike; and then I write a lot in one go. Writing about a subject I love makes it much easier.
Steve Fenton The first edition was written a long time ago, before TypeScript even reached version 1.0. The TypeScript team have been so busy adding features, I really wanted to make sure the book was updated with all their good stuff.
