Sometimes you don't even realize you have it. When you have a schedule that includes another job you tend to let that job overtake your life. You come home somedays and the excuse is that you are too tired. Mind over matter is all it comes down to and when you wake up with that conclusion you start to push yourself more. I just write, and most of the time it is bad stuff, but it isn't a waste of time. It leads me to something great because my mind is staying active and continuing to think instead of going through the motions.

I'm sure it is different for every writer, depending on the reason they started writing or the reason they continue. For me it is writing what I love. It is an escape from reality that helps me forget about everyone else's issues and focuses on just one person who always seems to have a way more interesting life than I could ever live.

I think that the best advice I gave myself while writing was to just keep writing. Write as much as possible...good or bad....sometimes you surprise yourself. If you keep writing eventually it will be done and then it is time to rethink everything that made you pause in the first place.

I'm inspired by very random insignificant moments. I suppose it is the writing that makes things significant. When I'm driving I like to look at the clouds, trees, telephone wires....random scenery that is pretty standard everywhere you look. But while I'm driving it is the only thing I can stare at and wonder of the possibilities of things that have yet to happen. I think about nature mixed with technology and that leads to some pretty crazy thoughts...

I was sitting around thinking about how I wanted something big, bigger than one book that is, and it had to be unlike anything I have read. From there I wrote down my dreams when I woke up. I had an amazing dream about a girl with the ability of electricity and I started writing from her perspective to see where it was going and that is when I came across Cedric. He was what made this bigger than one book.
