I seldom have writer's block now but I sure did many years ago. I have found that letting my mind roam free is the best way to form new ideas and even book storylines. Many come from my dreams, as Hard Rocks did (my current project). What is amazing is that I had a stroke several years ago and it seems to have turned on a switch! Now I can start talking about something and keep building my story for as long as I can talk. Writing is the same way. Robin Williams used to do jokes the same way.

I'm finishing up on Hard Rocks, a hard look at settling the Planet Mars. Try doing it as a convict. To say this book is gritty, funny as hell, and a riot is only the start of the truth.

I always tell the story of me as a 5 year old child. I would ask for a pencil and paper on which I would make looping circles that I thought writing was. I would "read" the story later to my family. The strange and very sad fact was that once I did start school I had severe issues learning to read and write. As an adult I found out the reason, Dyslexia.

(view spoiler)[My newest book, Plague: Death was only the beginning, is actually based on the Madagascar 2013 outbreak. The plague had broken out in the northern part of the nation and was out of control for several months. Just at the end it was totally airborne which gives it the ability to kill 95% of the people infected. Nasty thing if it started here for sure! (hide spoiler)]
