You know, actually, I was approached by an executive editor of a good press after one of my public lectures. This was a beginning of a rewarding book project. I am grateful to this person for encouragement.

I think by the whole spectrum of experiences and emotions. From astonishment and admiration to disappointment and anger - all can be a driving force for new writing. I am also inspired by amazing people and books. And I am drawn to incurable optimists, when they are "real."

I usually have a few book ideas planned ahead, and know what I want to write about. The notorious block is typically a question of exhaustion - emotional or physical. So to deal with a "writer's block," just change the pace of life for awhile: make the world speed up, or slow down. The latter helps to relax, meditate, and remove oneself from the race. Things become more clear. Alternatively, what also helps is to experience (without extremes!) life more intensely and using all senses - whatever adventure suits you. Both methods shift something and a new perspective suddenly emerges, along with the new energy. Try it.
