Jane Fenton I recently stayed in a creepy hotel out of town. I could easily write a murder mystery around this experience (and probably will). LOL.
Jane Fenton Hi Elaine! I finally published book 3 this month! Thank you for your patience! I'm working on book 4 now (Repo Girl Vegas Vacation) and plan to release it sometime this summer. Happy reading!
Jane Fenton Ugh...I hate writer's block. When it happens, I try to do something fun and physical like tennis, hiking, or kayaking. Then, I journal about anything other than my story. That usually helps, especially when combined with lots of chocolate:-)
Jane Fenton The BEST thing about being a writer is getting to control the story. I love being able to get my characters in terrible situations and then figuring out how to get them out. Oh, and I enjoy being able to give them witty lines. I don't know how many times I've thought of the PERFECT thing to say in a situation in real life after it's too late. Not a problem for my characters. They always have the perfect line.
Jane Fenton My advice for aspiring writers is to read and write as much as you can! Also, join a local writing group. Writers are wonderfully supportive and there are a million "how-to" books to make sure you keep your plot moving and your characters growing. I always wanted to write and if I can do it, so can YOU.
Jane Fenton I'm currently working on two stories. I'm constructing an outline for a sequel to Repo Girl where Andi's mom shows up on her doorstep bringing lots of trouble close behind. If you've read Repo Girl, I'd love to hear from you and know if there's anything that you think would be fun to include.
Jane Fenton My best ideas usually come to me while I'm walking my dogs. Crazy, right? I'm sure I look hilarious as I'm walking down the street, frantically typing the ideas into my phone before I forget them.
Jane Fenton I entered a "Write a book in 48 hours" contest held in Roanoke, Virginia a few years ago. The story had to take place in Roanoke and had to be written with a "pulp fiction" vibe. My resulting 48 hour story was awful but it contained the main idea of a rookie repo agent finding a dead body in one of her pick ups. I spent the next few years working on it until it became this fun, romantic-suspense story.
