The stories in 'Vampires Don't Drink Coffee...' were written separately, the ideas coming from different sources. The novella, 'Candle of Life' evolved from a piece triggered by a picture of a candle.

Many things inspire me, from a misty morning or a crisp autumn day, a line in a book or poem, a picture, a snippet of conversation or even something one of my animals does. Ideas seem to pop into my head out of the air sometimes!

I hope to soon be releasing a collection of Vampire Romance short stories, called 'Vampires Don't Drink Coffee and Other Stories' under my other author name, Vandalia Black.

Write every day, even if it is only for five minutes. Read, read, read. Don't be discouraged if you're not successful at first. Keep going; perseverance often pays off in the end. Above all, write for yourself.

I don't tend to get 'writer's block' as I always have other things to work on if I hit a stony patch. If I get stuck, I go and do some little job or make a cup of tea and that usually gets me moving again.
