Melanie Ifield Unfortunately I don't have a mysterious life! Or do I... :)
If you have read my blog posts, you know that I have multiple illnesses - the mystery there being why the body starts to deteriorate and how to prevent this, or stop it once it has begun. So perhaps a medical mystery? If there was a neat solution at the end, I think it could be a bestseller!
Melanie Ifield Hello there Judy! Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.
I'm pottering along - trying my hand at working out marketing strategies, research and writing... :)
Every step I take I feel is one point to me: zero to illness. Long term, chronic illness is a mountain, but I try to keep climbing. I hope you are reaching your writing goals, too!
Melanie Ifield Hi there K Kris!
Yes, I'm on Kindle and I've enrolled in KDP Select (which is what I'm assuming you're talking about?)
As far as I am aware, no, once you are enrolled in Select, you are locked in to not selling in e-format anywhere else.
But there are incredibly accurate guidelines on Kindle for every program they run, Select, Kindle Lending Library, etc. They are clear and concise - they want to make it easy for us! :)
It is best to have a really good read and then decide what programs work best for you and your manuscript.
Hope this helps.
Melanie Ifield HI there - I'm glad you enjoyed the first instalment of the Novarmere Chronicles! I have completed the editing phase of Book Two and am currently working on the cover. I'm hopeful that Book Two: Hunt for the Last Wizard will be coming out in the next couple of months. I'll keep you posted through Twitter and Facebook and even a blog post or two.
Happy reading!
Melanie Ifield While I was day dreaming, funnily enough. The best ideas seem to come when I am meant to be doing something else and instead, I am procrastinating with some very good day dreaming!
Melanie Ifield I've published the first book in my 'Chronicles of Novarmere Dark Wizard' Series and I've written the last three (they are being edited and shall be online asap!). I'm now starting to write the follow up series with a working title of 'The Resurgence'.
I love the world of Novarmere so much and the characters I met there, I can't get enough of writing about them. Especially the little talking dragon called Nilofar, who is about the size of a cat! Makes it perfect to have him sitting on people's shoulders, chatting in their ears and chuckling smoke everywhere.
Melanie Ifield Ooo - Loads of things!
I love writing, the creating of new worlds, people, events. I love meeting my characters and seeing what they'll get up to.
When I write for children, I love to write about all the things I didn't do, or wasn't meant to do when I was young - and I get to play out events as a child once more!
The whole process is delicious (except editing!)
Melanie Ifield I generally do some 'free writing' and allow any thoughts that float into my mind access to the page - then focus on a topic and write what I can about that for a time. Either that, or go for a stroll in the fresh air. As a writer, I sometimes don't get enough outside time!
