Well, since I only have one book out there in the world, this question is fairly easy to answer. The world of Echoes of the Forgotten uses spirits as a means for high speed communication. I have a personal fascination with ghosts and the many different concepts of the afterlife. Generally speaking, spirits are usually perceived as quick-moving. I wanted to create a fantasy world that made spirits not only common place, but integrated them into a key part of physical society. In the real world, instant (or near instant) communication is an important part of our daily lives. Now what happens if that communication were to be interrupted or completely stopped? I am also fascinated with recorded history and how it is typically crafted by the victors, so that also plays a monumental role in my story.

There are many different opinions on this. For me personally, I would typically say writer's block is just an excuse for when I'm feeling lazy or tired. Yes, there are times when I have difficulty writing, but that's because writing is hard. There are some plot threads that take significant effort to untangle. Completing a novel isn't an easy thing to do, otherwise everyone would be doing it. So, how do I deal with it? I just force myself to put words on the screen, despite my inclination to do otherwise.

I am writing the sequel to Echoes of the Forgotten. It does not yet have a title—I still have a ways to go. The manuscript is currently sitting at 23,000 words (79 pages). I am enjoying continuing the story, though some chapters and point-of-views are easier to write than others. I hope to have at least a first draft finished by the end of 2016, though I never do well with deadlines (self-imposed or otherwise).
