It's a paranormal mystery - ever since my father passed, we have activity in the house that can't be explained other than by him visiting us. There have been TV's, lights and heater's turning on by themselves and real feeling of a presence. It's a friendly presence, though.
I don't even want to tell you what's been going on at my mother's home.

Seed of Control is the sequel to Dark Seed, where I took the scheme from the first book and made it only a part of a much bigger plan.
I first got the idea for Dark Seed from my father that told me it was ludicrous that someone was inserting fish genes into tomatoes. I thought that might make a good story and began researching from there and found much more.

I think if you have to wait to be inspired to write, it would take forever to write a book. I just know that at 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. on weekends I'm going to write, so I just do it. Even on days that I don't feel like it and have to force myself to sit down in front of the computer, after the first sentence or two I get into the flow.

Writer's block can last a while. I just experienced it with my third book - I couldn't figure out an important part of the plot and couldn't move forward until I solved it. Every night I would ask for the solution as I went to sleep. In the meantime I wrote scenes farther along in the story - not knowing if I'll use them or not. Then one night at 1:00 a.m. I woke up and had the plot answer. I wrote it down and the block was gone. Now the first draft of the third book in the Seed series is coming along well.

Finish the first draft. All first drafts suck, but that's what the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. drafts are for. The main thing is to keep writing and finish the story.

The best thing about being a writer is to see an empty page fill with words. Then after so much hard work you end up holding a book in your hands.
