Most of my ideas for books come from real life possibilities and the "what if" question. I had wanted to try my hand at erotica for a while, but hadn't come up with a story I liked. Then I read an article about bipolar disorder and how it affects not only the sufferer, but those around him/her. So I figured out how to make an erotic story out of that. Turned out that, as I got into the writing, I didn't like trying to write the BDSM stuff. And it called for way more research than I was willing to do on that subject. So I settled for steamy and explicit without the BDSM. All of my books have explicit sex scenes, so going for *more* explicit explicit sex scenes wasn't a great leap. LOL

I'm not sure I need a particular inspiration. I just love doing it and I love the written word. Sometimes, even if a book's story doesn't grab me, if the writing is good, I stick with it.

I just finished a steamy novella, DESIRED. It's available as a preorder at Amazon now, but will go live on August 4, 2015. I'm also working on a new Dixie Cash book, YOU CAN HAVE MY HEART, BUT LEAVE MY DOG ALONE. Also the 3rd book of my Sons of Texas trilogy. The title of that book is THE HORSEMAN.

I'm an avid reader, so I just keep reading. Doesn't matter what I'm reading. Pretty soon, something triggers something and I can move on. Or sometimes I just keep writing stream-of-consciousness, even though I know most of it will be trashed. Pretty soon, I feel that trigger again and I can go back to where I want to be.
