I was asked to evaluate a bloodhound for search and rescue, Lady Bird. She was a rescue and I was so impressed with her talent and personality that I wanted to learn who had trained her and why she ended up in rescue. Fate intervened and Lady Bird's owner asked me to work recoveries in the WV flood. It was a story that was begging to be told and I just happened to be the person in a position to tell it.
