J.P. Mac How I got as far in life as I did with so many character flaws.
J.P. Mac Final edit for a collection of short stories entitled "Death Honk: Nine Tales of the Macabre." Five entries have been previously published while the other four were written for the anthology. I hope to release in December and am currently trying to wrangle reviews.
J.P. Mac I used to say the answer was "keep writing." But I wrote for three years once and only finished a single non-fiction book. Lots of first drafts, all of them hateful, but nothing completed. I finally had to retreat, write short fiction—of which I recently sold a story—and remember that I always hate first drafts and that rewrites are part of the process. For me, writing requires completion and a market. Otherwise, its a journal.
J.P. Mac Into the Raging Storm by Rachel Slade, since I love real-life sea disasters ala The Perfect Storm.

Conrad Black's book on Trump, since Black's book on Nixon was excellent.

The Necromancer's House by Christopher Buehlman as the subject matter of magic as a dangerous unstable element is similar to something I'm working on.
J.P. Mac Can't say I know Deplora Boule, though I might have chosen a more inspiring pen name.
J.P. Mac Thanks for asking, Hans. I have rough outlines for a version 2 and 3, but am laboring to finish a supernatural mystery in time to launch the ebook around Christmas. I couldn't see putting out a Hallow Mass sequel anytime before late 2018.

(Unless a publisher offered me a pile of money. Then my deadlines might accelerate.)
J.P. Mac Hallow Mass grew out of a short story published a few years back in Necrotic Tissue, as well as the Cthulhu Mythos Mega Pack, that dealt with intellectual blind spots and their consequences. Hallow Mass is an updating of the H.P. Lovecraft tale, "The Dunwich Horror," and deals with the same topic as well as issues of family, self-discipline, and fidelity as a party girl grad student learns evil is not socially-constructed, and that she must choose how to respond. It'll be released on Amazon April 29. I'll be doing a book giveaway and releasing a book trailer very soon.
