Stephen B. Page I get inspired through my work or play. When I really get passionate about my work (for example, writing policies and procedures for businesses) then I start thinking about what does the industry need or what are they lacking in this specific area.

I got inspired in my current bridge book by reading many books on bridge; playing a lot of bridge; and watching my fellow peers struggle at bridge. So I decided, that with my writing talent, that I should say something about bridge that could help others.

I don't write for the money, ever.
Stephen B. Page I am not working on any new book. I am spending many hours promoting my latest book (May 2019) on bridge. Marketing campaign, email blasts, visiting bridge clubs, bridge tournaments, and so on.
Stephen B. Page Don't just write. Study books on how to write a good novel or how to write non-fiction. Study Grammar books.

When I wrote my only novel, I had written the entire book and then I studied books on how to make a novel better. I learned some important advice that changed my entire book. I learned that I needed a "death" at the end of each chapter, or something dramatic (not death in the true sense of someone dying) to entice readers to go to the next chapter.
Stephen B. Page I love writing because I am mostly a non-fiction author that writes books for helping others. I get satisfaction that this is my place in this world, to help others learn to write policies and procedures, bridge play, create a good resume, or play golf.
Stephen B. Page I put the book down and do other things. For example, in writing my current book, I put the book down several times (months at a time) more because I was disappointed that the book was not coming out as I thought it should. Always, when I came back to the book, I had better ideas.
Stephen B. Page I got the idea to write a Bridge Book for Beginners and Non-Life Masters from incredible things I learned when reviewing the Bridge Laws that are established to govern any sanctioned duplicate bridge game. I was amazed at the detail of these Laws. I thought, "Wow, these laws could really help the Beginner (and some Advanced Players, too)." Many of my partners and bridge friends also wanted me to include a chapter on "Reading Body Language of Bridge Players." This skill can be taught. Therefore, I wrote this book. When I thought I was done writing, a Bridge Club owner suggested that I write more about Bridge Strategy. Now I had my structure for the book. The book is 166 pages long.

My book is titled, "Winning Bridge Tips for New Players, Beginners, and Intermediate Players (and some Advanced Players, too)." This book is available at my website, at Amazon, and at Kindle.
