There are lots of places I COULD go, but it's the second half of the question that stops me - what would I DO there?
I'd love to experience the worlds of Pern, Lankhmar, Lord of the Rings, and others, but would I be able to turn around and come back? If I had to stay there a while, what would I do? What would I have to offer such a world and how would I make my living?
In addition, I'm pretty spoiled and would not want to live without modern conveniences and especially, coffee.
For these reasons, I'd probably choose the world of Harry Potter because it's one in which wonder lives side by side with the modern world and so it's one in which I feel I could live within.

Current events and the big questions that continue to bother me were the impetus for this book. I think that's true for many writers. What often takes thought is how to frame those events and questions - translate them into a world and characters that reveal my mental and emotional struggle in an entertaining way.

I am not inspired to write so much as I'm driven to. Thoughts and ideas come to me in my dreams and sparked by conversation. I have too many ideas and not enough time. My biggest difficulty is picking which of them to work on.

Same as most writers give - write and write and write. But also, look for patterns in your writing; things that you write about again and again. Those are the major themes of your life.

Koroviev and Behemoth from The Master & Margarita because they are hysterically funny together despite being deadly demons and ill-matched in personality. They enliven the narrative with their antics in the service of pointing out the hypocrisy inherent in any governmentally-engineered society attempting to portray itself as morally superior to any other.
