Paul Holbrook Be brave and just write stuff even if you look back at it a think its crap. I try to write everyday if I can but a whole lot of what I write will never be seen by anyone but me. But its a process, something that improves with practice and effort.

Other than that, just read Stephen King's 'On Writing - A Memoir of the Craft', it's a beautiful thing.
Paul Holbrook For me it's having a channel for my hummingbird mind. I think too much, dangerously so sometimes, and when I say dangerous I mean to me personally rather than to others.

Writing is all about releasing my inner voice in controlled stages, because if I try to keep it contained it ends up turning poisonous and taking me to a place where no one would go willingly.

Writing makes and keeps me happy, like medication... but tastier.

Paul Holbrook Luckily it's not something I've really had to deal with yet. There are times when I do find myself staring at a blank screen , but I generally will close the laptop lid, go and do something else and then come back an hour or so later. The answers and inspiration are always in there somewhere, you just have to wait until they are ready to reveal themselves.
Paul Holbrook Simple answer; dog walking. I get all my best ideas for stories, novels, plot twists, endings and characters when I am out walking my dog.
Paul Holbrook I am currently writing a novel called Regina Dolor which is the third book of the Memento Mori series. I have self published Memento Mori and the second novel Domini Mortum is currently undergoing a crowdfunding campaign with those lovely people at Unbound (which can be found at www.unbound.co.uk/books/domini-mortum )

Regina Dolor is the last book in this series and concerns Victorian Magicians, Voodoo, Travelling freak shows and, as always, Finnish mythology. I have done about six months of research before starting it and look to have it complete by this time next year.
