That's a wonderful question. For me, it the whole creative process. Creating characters, and getting to know them as real people. I gave them life, and they do the rest. Making a world which can be believable, and forming a plot that really interests me. It a really neat experience, and to me it is the best thing about being an author.

It varied a lot from my first book to the last book I wrote. With my first book I had spent a good month researching and creating characters. My research continued all through my writing the novel. For my second book, I did my research for maybe a week, before starting to write.
My third book, Blood Moon Ritual, I dove right in. I had everything I needed. I only had to plan the ending, which I did while writing. Any research that needed to be done, I did while I was writing it.

Giving them the right name. You want your characters to be rememberable, and having the right name is very important.

Right now, I am working on the third and final book in the Witch In The Woods series; Blood Moon Ritual.

I deal with writers block by stepping away from my project. I'll read a book, brows the internet, watch a movie or listen to music. While doing all of that, something will connect, whether it be a simple sentence, a change of scene, or even a minor twist to the plot.
