Many of the ideas in The Gin Entanglement come from teaching science and literature for years, but I'm a true nerd, so I borrow from books and magazines. I could be reading an article on holograms or the Phoenicians and some aspect of it might find its way into my writing. I also study people. When observe interesting people, I write what I see. Their mannerisms or language patterns become part of a matrix of ideas I can access to generate more specific attributes of my characters.
