I deal with writer's block in a couple of ways. First I change location, whether its moving to a different part of the house or go to the Forest Preserve. Second I just write down the first words that come to mind. I may never use them but at least I am writing something.

Best thing about being a writer is being able to put in words how I feel and sharing that with others who may feel the same way but can't put it down in words.

Keep writing no matter what. There maybe a time where you get discourage, but when that happens it is even more important to keep writing.

I am currently working on my next poetry book. The working title is:
Where Willows Weep.

A lot of what I write comes from events that happen in my life. However sometimes it is just something I have observed or a dream I have. I make sure I write everyday even when all it is are words that pop in my head.

I have always wanted to publish my poems, but have been hesitate due to the fact that each poem has a part of me in them. Then one day I met an author who had self-published and had her look at my poems. She encouraged me to get my book together. I was such a leap for me but one I am so glad I have done. It has been just amazing!
