If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Natacha Tormey Easy! The world of Hercule Poirot! I would love to spend time in that period and follow him around on his investigations :-)

What do you think the factor causes child abuse in your book?

Natacha Tormey Hi Ismaninda,

For me there are several factors. Firstly, there was a blind trust between members of the cult. They all believed that the others must be good people as they were serving God like they were. Because of this naivety, they trusted other members to look after their children and child abusers were able to operate freely in some respects.

Secondly, and unfortunately for all the children in the cult, Berg's doctrines encouraged child abuse. Because of this no one spoke up or tried to stop the abuse, particularly the physical abuse which was common place and dished out under the pretence that children were being disciplined for their own good.

How do you get inspired to write?

Natacha Tormey Being passionate about the subject is usually enough for me. I would never write a book that I was not hugely excited by.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Natacha Tormey Sometimes it is best to give into it and come back fresh the next day. But if it continues for more than a couple of days then I sit in front of my PC until I get the flow back. If I am finding it very difficult to write I start by reading some research or something related to the book subject to get me back into the story.
