Patrick Marks Brainstorming...I spend considerable time simply visualizing a story, I write down everything that comes to my mind (I call this a scratch sheet) and from this I find the inspiration to get something done.
Patrick Marks I'm working on a non-fiction book (Understanding your Bible), I'm completing a suspense novel (I'm about 60% done), I'm working on the sequel to Crash AND I'm brainstorming on at least two other projects. Keeps me busy...
Patrick Marks I'll give the same advise Stephen King gives: "Writers write a lot and read a lot." Patrick Marks Being able to create something that works, something that draws the emotion out of the words and reach the heart of a reader.
Patrick Marks One word at a time...I find that I simply force myself to keep writing something - anything. Arrowsmith (the band) has a rule = "Dare to suck." In other words, just get something written, you can always go back and fix it later. I've found this really works.
Patrick Marks I'm reading House of Spies by Daniel Silva and Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King.
