Natalie S. Ellis Revenge for Hire is the second book in the "Fear" series. I've finished the first draft and I'm in polishing mode (my favorite!) right now.
Natalie S. Ellis If you feel compelled to write, then you are a born writer and you're very lucky. It's a gift. And your life will be very interesting because of that gift. Write what your heart tells you to write and don't let anyone tell you not to. Just because there are rules and formats doesn't mean you have to follow them if your heart tells you your way feels right. But, and this is a very big BUT, grammar, spelling and punctuation is important! You should break those rules only when your character would break those rules. Don't be lazy. Oh, and challenge yourself to write a better book/paper/paragraph every time. Readers will appreciate it and it will pay off for you in the end.
Natalie S. Ellis The best thing about writing is the option to escape into the world you've created. It may not be fun or safe, but it's the only world you can control. Even as I wrote that last sentence, I realized that sometimes my characters control the world. But, I do have access to the DELETE button. Usually, those bizarre, almost magical scenes that seem like someone else wrote them are the ones I'm most proud of. Hm, is that a good thing?
Natalie S. Ellis I take a hot, sudsy bath when I can't figure out what to write next, whether it's a book, a scene or just a word. Hot water relaxes me and that helps me think clearer.
