I was living the dream I'd aspired to while I was having a promising singing career I was eighteen from early on I decided I was destined to be a classical soprano. Recalling those days one memory close to my heart was the time I was asked to sing on Christmas Eve in Glasgow Cathedral with its soaring columns that resonate with ancient pagan beliefs and practices that symbolised the victory of Jesus and the jewelled colours of the fire stained glass windows reflected in the gleam of the candlelight. It was packed as any concert hall and I had experienced a feeling of immense pride which I have never forgotten and when I began to sing a hushed silence fell over the Cathedral. My first notes. I knew that these acoustics were among the most beautiful anywhere in the world for my voice as I sang the Lords Prayer

I have always loved TV dramas and have spent years fantasising about creating my own story based on some of the wonderful experiences I had with my successful and fulfilling career as a gifted soprano in the late sixties and it life changing experiences gave me the idea for writing this original story.

I discovered when I started to write that I was much more of a moralist than I had believed myself to be. In my stories. I seemed to manage without the use of explicit sex, bad language, and violence but then I decided that since this was obviously the way I felt that I should examine it carefully and see if there was any merit in it. Eventually I worked out that the most important thing about writing anything is to use your imagination. I was happy enough with this philosophy as we are governed by our imagination and they stand there as a solid and impregnable bulwark against all the evils of life.

I would love to bring the magic trove of enriched characters to life and the enchantment of Glen Haven Castle in all its splendour with a sprinkling of stardust in the hope of one day attracting the initial interest of a film producer who thought that it had possibilities as a film or TV series then I would consider a sequel to Glen Haven.

Writing fiction is an extraordinary freedom to sit down and create characters, scenes, moods ,feelings, ideas beliefs. It would concern the reader little perhaps to know how sorrowful the pen is laid down at the close of two years imaginative task or how an author feels as if she is dismissing some portion of herself into the shadowy world where a crowd of characters that she loved are going from her forever. Every book has a soul , the soul of the person who wrote it and those who read it and lived a dream with it.

by staying focused on the bigger picture and remember why I decided to write in the first place. Above all else I enjoyed it despite the hurdles.
