Seeing your name in print? :)
It's also a case of having to write. When a story hits, I simply have to write it. If a title rears its head, I know that I'll eventually have a story to go with it.
I just love being a writer

This isn't something that I deal with. I have a thumb drive with ideas, story starters, titles, first page/chapter/paragraph etc. and visit these regularly. When inspiration hits, I go with it, if not, I take a look at something else.. Everyday, I add something to the list as things, scenes, conversations trigger something.
3am seems to be an inspirational time for me and it's not unusual for me to be sitting up in bed writing down ideas, story lines, even the outline for a full piece of work!
Having said that, it's also not unusual to re-visit my bedside notebook and wonder what on earth it all means!
I'm a great believer in 'go with the flow'.
Don't get stressed over it - move onto something else or simply don't write anything that day. Inspiration will only come when it's ready.

Just keep plugging away at it.
Don't listen to negatives.
Publish for yourself - if other people love it too, that's a bonus!

I've just published my first short story, "What'? Screeched Stacey" and am now heading back to another junior fiction book that I've been leaving and coming back to for the last 6 months called 'Best Party Ever'!
Having a few issues with images and making sure that the storyline flows right - it's a story taken from my youth with a sad ending and turning it into a fiction book with a happy ending.
Still a few wrinkles to iron out but hopefully it will be published within the next couple of months

The early hours of the morning seems to be when inspiration wants to strike most often! I keep a notebook and pen in the top drawer of my bedside table so I can write things down.
Sometimes it's just a title, at other times a whole story will present itself - no sleep that night!
Then later, I can flesh things out, expand storylines or simply wonder what on earth something was meant to be!!
At other times, just about anything will trigger a thought or phrase ( I also have a notebook in by handbag )! Shopping, walking, watching TV, gazing out the window at the sky - anything goes when it's about inspiration.

'Tommy To The Rescue' and 'What'? Screeched Stacey' are both aimed at kids that love adventure, know no boundaries, don't care what girls and boys are supposed to like/do and just have a great time growing up.
I have experience caring for children up to the ages of 12 years and wanted to try my hand at stories that would appeal to this middle grade section. I'm currently enjoying writing funny storylines with some of the ideas being taken from my own childhood.
