Jessica Barksdale Inclán Because I know every inch of "Pride and Prejudice," I would go there first. Then I would visit "Sense and Sensibility." I am sure I would take short weekend jaunts to all of Austen's books.

There are many things I would need to pack, but going to any of the "Fire and Ice" lands of George RR Martin would be scary, and maybe would only need an hour. Too dangerous. Many alerts on those worlds. But I would like to see a dragon.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán In preparation for a class I'm teaching, I'm reading "Bad Feminist" and "Shrill." Also, I have a to get through "New American Stories." For fun I've been listening to Sophie Kinsella stories while at the gym.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán My father's father--my grandfather, obviously--had a first wife and a first set of children. Something--the mystery--happened, and my grandfather moved from the South to the West.

My father never met these half-brothers of his, and I always wondered about them. My sister and I have tried, and yet, nothing. That's what I'd like to know!
Jessica Barksdale Inclán there really is only one couple: Lizzie and Darcy. I know. But still.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán Sherrie--

I am going to go in and look at your campaign right now. I have recently received a lot of these (and it's because I'm out there, too). So I'm going to look at them all soon! Good luck, and I'll go read what you are doing.

Best,
J
Jessica Barksdale Inclán I'm working on a collection of stories, a novel about a firefighter, and various and sundry poems and stories.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán Connecting with other people.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán I don't believe in writer's block. I believe people aren't writing at the moment for various reasons. Mostly, I think people do what they want to.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán I'm not inspired to write. I have to. But there are random lovely things that happen. A phrase floating in the air. My husband once said, "There are monsters in the agapanthus." He was talking about our puppies, but that phrase ended up being the title of my story, which has done very well out there. These inspire my writing, but I am always ready to write.
Jessica Barksdale Inclán Baked goods have seasons. I'm sure you don't want to eat pumpkin muffins on July 4th. There you are down by the pool, eating a big orange muffin. No. I started thinking about this, the way there is an arc. Like in life. In relationships. A story started to develop.
