What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Mara Dabrishus Start! Put pen to paper, type in that Word document, however you want to do it. Then keep doing it until you have a finished draft. Then find people to read it and be open minded about changing everything. Most importantly, if you get discouraged, keep writing! (And when you take breaks, read a book. You'll learn a lot from example.)

Mara Way back when... I read a review you had done and told you when I finish my book - I want you to review it. The illustration are in progress. I should be able to publish in early November. It is 42K words, middle-grade, so younger than your target audience. It is the story of a twelve year old girl who aspires to be an equestrian super star and a horse with an attitude. What are you currently working on?
Mara Dabrishus Sometimes I wonder if I'm plotting one too many things! I am outlining the sequel for Stay the Distance, have no fear. Then there's editing my second novel, Finding Daylight, which is about a girl trying to juggle being a teenager and a jockey, all while struggling to come to terms with the fall out of witnessing something she shouldn't have seen. That's all I can say!
