T.S. Krupa I read Jillian Dodd 'About a Boy' series and it was great! Devoured it in like 4 days.
T.S. Krupa My dating life! Specifically this guy in college I was seeing and someone set his car on fire while we were on a date. Never knew if it was connected to our date or not but he thought so.
T.S. Krupa Finally accept my acceptance to Hogwarts, forever student, that is until we blow it all up in our seventh year.
T.S. Krupa Amazon lost my packages.
T.S. Krupa Jill’s story originated out of a conversation I had with my husband over creating our wills. I tend to overthink things so I asked all these crazy questions like, what happens if someone dies and then remarries then who do you get buried with? Neither of us are from NC so if we get buried here who will visit and what if someone moves? So needless to say there were lots of what if’s on my part. I then thought about what would someone do in that situation and Jill’s story developed from there. Then later that year, we vacationed in Oak Island, North Carolina and after seeing the beautiful beaches and location I knew that is where I wanted her to end up. For this novel, I did very little research. I did try and go back through during the editing process and check on some things to make sure it didn't sound ridiculous.
T.S. Krupa Ideas come randomly. I wish ideas were 9-5 but they are not. Sometimes right as I’m falling asleep I think of something really promising. I find that for me running is a great way to clear my mind of the days events and day dream on characters and plots. I usually have to write down these as ideas as soon as I get back from a run.
T.S. Krupa I am currently working on a new stand alone novel set in New Hampshire. It's about a women named Andy Parker and her daughter Hayden Grace...that's all I can share right now...more to come later!
T.S. Krupa Write with abandon and worry about the rest later! I know it’s easier said than done. But when you get stuck read what you have out loud, step away for a minute, the afternoon or the weekend and come back with a fresh start. Finally, if all that doesn't work, start writing about something else. Even if you are describing the contents of your grocery bags, sometimes a good distraction is all you need.
T.S. Krupa The best thing is you get to write with abandon. I have been working on my doctorate for the last five years and that style of writing is very structured, very little of what you write is your own and you have to cite everything you do. I found this process to be so freeing. It was great to be able to sit down and just write and see where the journey takes you without worrying about finding a source or making sure every other sentence was cited.
T.S. Krupa I try different things to get back on track. Sometimes I skip ahead and write a different section of the story that is clearer in my mind. Usually, I will put the book down for a day or weekend and come back to it with a fresher outlook. If I get really stuck I switch from typing to handwriting and I find that really helps.
