Thought Gazer grew out of Awakening. Early on, after I had created a new character, I realized Awakening was beginning to read like a Russian novel, and I had to can him. I really liked him, however, so I archived the chapter that introduced him. Eventually, when I realized I could build a new story around him, Thought Gazer was born.
