Amy Mull Fremgen I've never had writer's block, thank heavens. What I do have is 'procrastination'! I'd rather read than write. Once I start writing I enjoy it, but getting the first word typed is the hardest. So I have to tell myself that when I finish 300 words or so, I can read the next chapter in the book I love.

2. Find a group of like minded people (writers' critique group) who will be kind and honest when they read your work. You don't always have to accept their advice but another viewpoint can be helpful.

Amy Mull Fremgen Most of my ideas just come to me. I guess I have an over active imagination. However, I think everything I've read or experienced is squirreled somewhere in my brain even if I'm no longer aware of it. And then when I sit down to write, these buried ideas pop up.
