I'd visit the world of my Chaparral Hearts series just to be able to walk around and explore California in the mid to late 1800s!

I am currently working on the fourth full-length novel for my Chaparral Hearts series. It's primarily set on a troubled cattle ranch in the desert mountains of 1873 Southern California and includes both romance and adventure. This book, and the two that will follow, have more of a western romance feel than the previous three books in the series. I'm excited for readers to experience this story.

I don't get to read as many books as I would like these days, but some of the books on my tbr for this summer include:
Cara Grandle's The Ribbon
Rachel Fordham's Where the Road Bends
Danielle Grandinetti's A Strike to the Heart
Pepper Basham's The Heart of the Mountains

Danielle Grandinetti's A Strike to the Heart
Pepper Basham's The Heart of the Mountains
Cindy Davis- Cindy's Book Corner
I really enjoyed The Heart of the Mountains and I am looking forward to catching up on Rachel's books, including Where the Road Bends.

Sharing the stories God has placed on my heart and reading notes and reviews by readers expressing how much that story meant to them.

All the bookstores and libraries were burned to the ground. Even the online stores stopped selling books. ;)

I'm not sure I believe in writer's block. What I do believe in is writer's burnout. That I have experienced and it was because I wasn't practicing healthy self-care. I was burning the candle at both ends of the stick and not allowing myself time to rest. (I was actually proud of how many all-nighters I pulled during that season.) It got so bad that I lost my desire to write anything. In fact, I lost my motivation to do just about anything at that point. So I took some time to rest and reassess the way I was living my life. I considered what God had actually called me to do and compared it to what I was doing because other people said I "should" be doing those things or because I put pressure on myself to do those things. As a result, I pruned several things from my life and reprioritized sleep, healthy eating, exercise, and mental rest. I prioritized time to be creative outside of my writing and just sitting quietly amid nature talking with God and reading His Word. I'm now a much happier and healthier version of myself than I was a year ago.
