Katarina Persson That's a tough one. I think one has to understand the reasons they're blocked. In my case it's usually either a self confidence issue or a lack of faith in my story, and I kind of deal with them both in the same way: Take a break from writing (even a long one) and look at the story again after a couple of months, with fresh eyes. By that time I usually realize the story is a lot better than I thought and the self confidence is restored.
Katarina Persson At the moment I have two works in progress: One novel that will probably go under Romance, which is in the editing phase, and one that I'm still writing that I'd call a family drama. It's about a woman who comes to a point where she has to face her past, and make important decisions about her future.
Katarina Persson While working on a novel, I try not to take more than a day off from it, or I'll lose contact with my story. And when I'm not writing I'm constantly thinking of the characters and their background, what motivates them and why. Things like that.
Actually, most of the times I sit down to write I'm not that inspired but I tell myself to write anyway, because I've discovered that inspiration comes from writing.
I get inspiration to my stories from all kinds of things, but mostly stuff happening around me on a daily basis and my own reflections on the difficulties we all face from time to time in our interaction with people around us. We all have so many different kind of relationsships in our lives, and I'm really fascinated by that.
