This was something I always wanted to do and, once I settled on a subject, the pandemic allowed me to connect with sources and complete research. The particular subject idea evolved from my own curiosity into this person's past, and how he navigated racial issues throughout his life.

"Jim Gilliam: The Forgotten Dodger" will be published on February 4, 2025 by August Publications. It is my first attempt at a single-author book. I began the project in late 2019 and am grateful for the community of people associated with Gilliam who spoke to me.
