Claire M. Banschbach Where does time go? But then that would morph into a time travel book and I would confuse myself. Maybe I'll just go with where have all the good men gone, and where are all the gods?
Claire M. Banschbach It's just going to be the two books in the series (Aredor and Wildcat). Although I do have a bunch of short stories (and some not so short) featuring different characters from the series. One of my next projects is to compile them all into an anthology for publishing. I'm tentatively thinking sometime next year. :) You can find two short stories over on my blog right now @ https://clairembanschbach.wordpress.c...
I do also have another story set in Cyndor (the country to the east of Aredor). It happens concurrently to the events of the series and will even feature some familiar faces. I've only got a few chapters written and it's pretty low on the priority list at the moment, but I do plan to return to it at some point. :)
Thanks for your question!
Claire M. Banschbach My faith does very much influence what I write, but religion is not the main focus of my stories. They focus more on human morals and right vs wrong and just trying to do the basic right thing in difficult situations.
But all that being said, I am in the process of writing a series where religion is more of a main theme. :)
Claire M. Banschbach Besides grad school, too many projects. I have stacks of notes for at least four different works in progress and a few short stories that are languishing in writer's limbo.
Claire M. Banschbach The best thing about being a writer is the worlds you create. If life gets tough, you have a place to escape to for a few hours where you control what happens. Hopefully your characters would be friends with you and it's nice to go hang out with them and have that adventure you've always wanted.
Claire M. Banschbach I stop writing. I never try and force myself to write. When I get stumped, I leave the story for a few hours, days, sometimes even weeks. Some people recommend powering through writer's block. That doesn't really work for me. I take a step back and when I'm ready, I'll start to brainstorm again and when I have something good, I'll sit back down and start writing again.
Claire M. Banschbach Read. Write. Get other people to look at your writing. Find friends with similar interests either in person or online to help bounce ideas off of or to get some encouragement when you're struggling. Never give up!
Claire M. Banschbach Anything and everything can be an inspiration. Sometimes it's a piece of music, or another book, or a scene from a movie. Someone can say something in conversation and it'll trigger an idea. Scenery and weather have also influenced my imagination. I rarely go searching for inspiration.
Claire M. Banschbach I was interning at a hospital and was driving into work one morning in the fog. For some reason I started thinking about what it would be like to ride through the fog and an image came to me of a man riding through a foggy mountain pass and I went from there. I spent the morning at work investigating this man more and discovering his story. Once I got home, I immediately wrote down notes for the story currently titled "The Mountain Baron".
