Nina Mason My publisher dropped the books without warning. I am working on getting them ready to republish myself. They will be somewhat different, however, and will have different titles. Starry Knight will be published as Knight of Wands, Dark and Stormy Knight as Knight of Cups, etc. I'm calling the republished series Knights of the Tarot, to avoid confusion with the old versions.
Nina Mason For Devil in Duke's Clothing, I started out with no more than a kernel of an idea. I wanted to write something that was both erotic and historical. From there, I decided it would be set during the Restoration period in Scotland, that the hero would be a duke, and that the heroine would be an innocent who'd married him because she had no other options. I chose a "marriage of convenience" plot because I wanted to start the book on their wedding night rather than with their courtship. He has unconventional erotic tastes, which she learned of while observing him with her lady's maid two years before, so she's terrified he'll do to her on their wedding night what she saw him do to the maid.

Usually, I do a lot of plotting and character development before I start writing, but, with this one, I just went for it and started writing, doing my historical research along the way as the need arose. The characters were very present and filled in their backstory as I wrote. About midway through, I had to stop and work out how things would get from that point to the end.
