Andy Martello I write more. Once I wrote an entire column about writer's block.

I also drink more and try to talk to women...or should that be "or try to talk to women"? I don't always do both at the same time, but both generally anger me enough to write something.
Andy Martello I think it has to be the fact that most people have this bizarre notion that being a writer is very cool, somewhat glamorous, and a little adventurous. I think everyone assumes if you're a writer, you must be like Hemingway. More likely, I think THEY we live the lives of Castle or Carrie Bradshaw, which SHOULD give you an indication of how few people actually read.

No, really...people love to SAY they read a lot, but they don't. You're probably not even reading this. Go through your GoodReads friends list. Relatively few of your friends have anything they're currently reading or books they have read. Maybe they think this is an old MySpace page. The site is certainly as convoluted as the old MySyace format.

(You may have to do some research to find out what MySpace is, but that MIGHT involve more reading.)
Andy Martello Don't.

That's about it. Just...don't.
Andy Martello I have been commissioned by the family of Richard B. Taylor to write the complete history of the Mount Charleston resort area of Las vegas. With luck, that book will be out next summer.

I am also working on compiling and editing my past columns into a book titled "The Masturbating Baboon and Other tales from Andy Land"
Andy Martello it depends upon what I'm writing. generally it's because I was a little drunk or a lot pissed off. Occasionally the motivation comes from my empty bank account. However, writing is often the cause of my empty bank account, so it's kind of a double-edged pen.

(See what I did there?)
Andy Martello If you read the book you'll find the answer. It's a cool answer, too. I promise.
