Thanks Caitlin. I haven't come across Wagamese, and look forward to checking him out. You'll find I touch on the tragedy of residential schools in The 53rd Parallel, and visit that sadness again in later novels.

I have wanted to write this book since the early 1970's when I realized the Ojibway I worked with were not going to receive justice for the great tragedy that befell them. I wasn't ready then. I am delighted that circumstances allowed me to write it now.
