Jerry Zak I’ve just uploaded my new science fiction, mystery adventure e-book “The Tailored” to Amazon. I encourage readers to check out the video of “The Tailored” on my Author Profile Page (second video page) to get a sense of the unfolding dilemma and adventure that awaits Seth Cramer. The year is 2165, a blip in time, a pivotal moment. Enjoy!
Jerry Zak Writer’s block. Bummer! I’m dealing with a variation of that now where I have an idea for a story that I am personally interested in but wonder if that interest is universal enough to pursue the many hours it will take to achieve the desired result. Depending on the season I find it helpful to walk away and turn my attention to other interests to flush out the doubt in this case, or give a total writer’s block time to pass. At the moment it’s early Summer so I’m helping my wife freshen up her flower gardens. Pick those weeds you aspiring authors. It helps me.
Jerry Zak The premise for my latest book, They That Fall, came to me after watching one of the many programs covering the world’s current climate predictions. I remember saying to my wife “What if after the vast amount glacial surface loss science discovered that the world’s oceans were actually receding?” The next thing I knew was that I was wondering whether I could write a plausible story about such a discovery, and, more importantly, could it be a nail biter? Before I new it I had the threads of a workable scenario scribbled on pads of paper strewn in front of my computer. Main characters were forming, but I must tell you I really enjoy some of the character names that just pop into my head as I type along. One such character only lasted a very brief time in the story, but I loved his name. From out of nowhere the name Bitchie Thurston dropped onto my monitor. It was perfect for his role in the story. So, as I see it, there are ideas for a book, but there are constant ideas within a book that enrich the general premise.
