UnderDog was born out of the need for a secondary character to find his "happily right now." After Davis Williams had been put through the ringer by two separate women he ran into "Red.". That little twist in Top Dog came to me out of the blue and Pinks and Red's connection was immediate, hot and heavy. I had no choice but to continue their relationship. (Not that figuring out how the heck that mess was going to get sorted out was easy - but it sure was satisfying when it was done.)

My characters are in my head and truly, I can't wait to see what's going to happen with them. Until I sit down and write their story, I'm never sure. So just like I enjoy picking up a good book and reading to find out what's going to happen, I enjoy picking up my story and writing for the same reason. (And then it's just so much fun to share that story with other readers.)

I don't usually have writer's block. I usually have "How the hell am I going to get there from here?" In other words, I know where I'm going, I just don't know how to get the characters there. Brainstorming with fellow authors helps - even talking into a recording device and brainstorming with myself works. Taking a walk can trigger a breakthrough. The best fun is when I treat myself to a massage and THAT triggers a new plot twist or character attribute. Yes - more massages!
