Hi John I'm not an American and I take absolutely no side in the unending "right to choose" vs "right to life" debate. Furthermore I respect whatever religious conviction you might have. But why have Danny continue a pregnancy resulting from a brutal rape? I've bought all your books so I guess I'll find out. Regards Alan
John Ellsworth The choice made by Michael and Danny was based in part on their religious beliefs. I look for consistency in my characters. That's much more important to me that underlying debates because I'm writing, not moralizing and not judging,

Hi, John, This is just some feedback on your book description for Frat Party. It sounds like a great story, but so much of the plot is revealed in the book description that it kept me from wanting to get the book. It sounds like the description covers over 50% of the read. When the description has too much in it, it spoils the read for me. Do you write the descriptions, or is it the work of a publicist?

Your Amazon profile shows: A SMALL DEATH is coming in September 2015, but I don't see this book anywhere on Amazon or Good Reads. Is this still in the works?
John Ellsworth It has been retitled THE TRIAL LAWYER, Jason, and is now available on Amazon. Thanks so much for asking!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
John Ellsworth My agent wanted a new series to sell. Oftentimes these so-called "creative" decisions are really business decisions. And lots of people have told me they love Christine, so I decided on a series about Christine.

How do you get inspired to write?
John Ellsworth If you're asking how do I come up with storylines, I watch a lot of news and browse the I'net constantly for interesting things. But my stories try to include relationships too, so other people are always inspiring to me.

What are you currently working on?
John Ellsworth A new series featuring Christine Susmann, the tough, brainy paralegal from The Defendants. She rocks.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
John Ellsworth Write, rinse, repeat. Don't be afraid to pubish. Readers are very supportive and will guide your path for you.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
John Ellsworth Creative freedom. I also have a very small music studio where I can write and record music. During the day I can do each of them, but mostly I'm writing or reading. My daughter is a music teacher and she thinks in quarter-notes, I'm sure.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
John Ellsworth I keep my daily word count something easy that I know I can hit. Usuall 1000-2000 words. There are days I don't "feel" like writing but on those days I just write anyway. No excuses from me.
