I have a clear view of how I want the book will end, but I still let my characters take charge. I try to stay true to their persona which means they will not react in the same way I would. I do a personality profile of all major characters before I write the first line so I will know who they are and where they will take the story.

I have a simple solution to writer's block. I interview my characters. It's a good thing they seem real to me because we have some interesting conversations. I ask them things liked: what were you thinking? what were you feeling? what made you do it? It gets me unstuck, and I can move forward with the plot.

I am currently working on another suspense novel called MELTDOWN to be released in 2015. Homicide Detective Chris Lagoni has been so well received by readers in HER LYING EYES, he will be back to solve another murder where once again he must put his attraction to a beautiful woman (a person of interest) aside to solve the case. It is a story of two shootings that happen simultaneously. The FBI insist they are connected, but Lagoni and his team say no way. The only two people who can answer that are both on the run and time is running out before another more deadly attack occurs.

Read books that are in your genre and study the author's technique in dialogue and narrative. Read books about the art of writing to learn things like plotting, pacing, and creating interesting characters. Attend workshops, conferences, and writers clubs. It is especially helpful to join a critique group. And above all, write every day. You'll see that it gets easier and more natural if you stick with it.
