Narnia. And once there, I would seek out Aslan and spend a day with him.

It was a dark, damp night for Tom. But he did not mind, the monster was dead and his kitchen safe.

I brainstorm a lot. Writers never stop writing, they just keep brainstorming. What I do when I have writers block, is I map things out on chart paper or poster board, see where all my characters are going and where their stories are leading me. Sort of like a giant web chart. This helps me stay away from writer's block, as I know every detail and chapter in most of the books I'm currently working on so I know the beginning from the end.

You get to create new worlds and take readers into them. And if those worlds are well-developed, then your readers are going to enjoy them.

The best advice I was given was when I won a few awards for playwriting when I was in High School, a mother came up to me and said that she thought my plays were the best. More mature than the others, which is probably also why I only won 3rd place twice. Anyway, she said that Neil Simon was once asked how do you keep writing? He said, "You just sit on your butt and write." Her advice to me was keep going no matter what, sit down, have the patience to write and just write.

Currently, I am working on a children's story of Pinocchio which I hope to have finished and out in publication by the end of the month. I am also working on Book Two of the story of Snow. The title will be made public by the end of September.

I get inspired by things people say, or events in my own life. Even fantasy or fairytales all have elements of reality to them. Sometimes I've poured out pieces of my own life in my writings, although you would never know it as it is disguised through characters, fantasy, magic and Fire-Breathing Ravens.

I got the idea for SNOW: JOURNEY THROUGH THE MYSTIC FOREST not long after I finished writing a children's play called "Pinocchio" back in 2013. I had created a Red Fairy character in this play and wanted to use her in another play, so I created a version of "Cinderella." While I was writing both plays, I created many new characters in this special universe. After mapping them out, I saw that there was the potential for many stories, and decided to take the story back at least 300 years (it ended up being 40 years) to see where these character's stories began. Originally the book was intended for children at only 30,000 words, but not long into the process I found that the story was getting darker and it was becoming a preteen/young adult novel.
