How big is the width (diameter) and length of holes wood nesting bees use to lay their eggs? I want to build bee nesting houses at local parks in existing snags or downed trees. I need the information for leafcutter bees, small carpenter bees, large carpenter bees, mason bees, digger bees, and small resin bees. Your books are great. Keep up the important work. Jack Pruitt

Diameter would range from an 1/8" to 3/8" for the small and medium bees. Large carpenter bees create their own cavity but if you're drilling a hole, 1/2" or 5/8" diameter. The length of the cavity should be at least 8" but preferably as long as possible. Heather
