There are so many things I love about being an author, but I think the best thing is that moment when you have finished the story (and the edits) and you can sit back and look at the word count and see what you have accomplished.
Another good part is when you read a positive review of your work- I don't think there's a better feeling than knowing that someone enjoyed reading your book.

Pay for an editor, your book could be amazing but without a professional to polish it....

I usually will try to leave the book alone for at least 24 hours. It's funny how the answer will come to you when you try not to force it. Sometimes I'll dream the answer other times inspiration will hit on the bus ride to work :)
