Write. Don't be afraid to be bad at writing at first. Nobody is good at something when they start out. Don't be intimidated by a lack of experience or not having this or that fancy class on writing. Don't think you aren't good enough because you haven't won competitions or because you don't become an overnight success.

The idea for, "The Blood Cloth Syndicate" came from so many places. With out ruining to many of the twist and turns that happen in the story by naming specifics, the idea all came together through several documentaries watched completely at random, a History Channel board game and an imagination to find a thread to tie them all together.

The only way to deal with writer's block is to plow through it. A music teacher once told me, "If you write sh*t you can go back and fix it. If you write nothing then that's what your stuck with."

I have always loved to write. I would write stories when I was very young just for the fun of it. While in grade school I entered a few writing competitions that I did rather well in, but didn't fully grasp the idea of competitively writing yet.
My most recent inspiration to write came after a decision that I was done watching television. At the very beginning of a nearly 10 year stretch with no t.v. I picked up, "The Judas Strain," but James Rollins.
Halfway through reading it I remembered what it was to read. The feeling I had was amazing. I thought to myself, "I want to be a part of this feel. I want to give this feeling to other people."
