The truth? Very badly. I've barely written anything this summer. I had such big plans! I'm trying to get back into something of a routine and write at least 500 words a day. It's not much, but it's better than writing nothing at all. I'm hoping that once I get back into the groove, it will all come pouring out and some great epic will result. I can dream, can't I?

Thank you! I have an idea for a potential short story sequel, but it still needs to be fully fleshed out. I can see how you might think it's open-ended. There's no neat little bow wrapping things up for a typical happy ending, which I think works for "Drawing Dead". Technically, the good guys won and the bad guy was locked up in the end. But who really won? Both James and Devin influenced each other in their time together - James got a little darker and Devin felt enough of something to keep James alive as long as he did. That's where the sequel would take us, if it goes where I think it will. Sometimes the eventual ending is a surprise even to me.

What will happen to Devin? Will they manage to “save” him and what this will mean for him? Will he finally die/transform into something else/finish his life as a mortal/you name it?
Was there anything more than duty from James’ side when he was with Devin and, speaking of this, is James happily married or was it all in the name of producing more heirs to be turned into Devin’s future hunters? Or maybe James is broken in such way that he cannot devote himself to anyone.
This were only part of my thoughts when the story finally ended and I'll be very glad to read more about this couple, they were so unusual and mysterious. Anyways, I know that some stories do not answer all Qs, so please feel free to disregard my curiosity :-)
Thank you so much for getting back ^^ Wish you all the best! ...more

This is a trick question! I never seem to be working on just one thing. When I hit a block on one story, I go and fiddle with something else, hoping to make some progress. It's all about keeping that glacial pace going!
I just turned in the extended draft of my Icarus story. The publisher seemed to love the first draft, but it didn't fit the anthology it was intended for, so they said if I could add about 5,000 words they would consider it for a stand-alone. It's a mix of "Frankenstein" and "Pygmalion", with a little robotics thrown in. I want to see someone coslay this so much, but I think public nudity is frowned upon in most places that would happen. Maybe we could throw some tiny shorts or a loincloth on Icarus for public consumption.
I'm also working on my Red Riding Hood retell set on an alien planet. It's nowhere near done, but at least I have a general idea of where it's going. Reassuring, eh? I wanted to do something with shifters, but wanted to avoid the usual set-up of the girl in the red hood and the wolf. That means there's no girl, no cute cloak, and no wolf. It's not even 5,000 words yet, so it's still in its prenatal phase.
