K. Michael Gibson So far I'm looking somewhere around summer of 2015 if all goes well. Currently I'm at about 40,000 words and hope to finish the first draft within the next few months around 100,000 words. Then it depends on the editor. lol. It's looking frigging fantastic though.
K. Michael Gibson Typically I work on multiple projects at once, usually I focus on one in particular during that time frame but on the occasions where I'm running out of ideas I'll switch over and work on another, that tends to clear the slate and get my creative juices flowing again.
K. Michael Gibson Meeting people and talking about different aspects of the books, it always gives me a thrill when someone connects with one of my characters or a concept in the work.
K. Michael Gibson My first bit of advice is this, I hate the phrase "Aspiring writer" either you write which makes you a writer or you do not write and if you do not write but you want to then you're aspiring. lol Seriously if you want to write just put whatever you have in your head on paper and see what happens.
K. Michael Gibson Currently I'm working on "Dead Pulse Reign: (The Kyle Walker Chronicles Volume 2)" the sequel to Dead Pulse Rising obviously as well as a historical horror novel called "Rise of the Wind Walkers" which takes place around the era just before the Civil War during the trail of tears which is a period in time that I am fascinated with.
K. Michael Gibson Everyday things, my family and friends inspire me quite a bit when trying to develop 'real' characters.
K. Michael Gibson I've worked in privatized law enforcement for years, many of my dealings led me into areas where secrets are routinely kept, I remember one day a few years back joking about a defense contractor that I had dealt with to my partner saying "If the zombie apocalypse strikes this is the first place I'm looking as the cause" after that the idea formed and I ran with it.
