J.B. Rockwell Ha! That's a good one. I'm gonna call it: 'What happened to Grandpa?!' He's never been in the picture and no one ever talks about him, but obviously there WAS a Grandpa at one point (that's how biology works, is this was loooong before the whole artificial insemination/sperm donor thing became common), so where is he?! Did he bail? Did he die? Is eh hiding somewhere under an assumed name? ENQUIRING MINDS WANNA KNOW?!
J.B. Rockwell Ooh, that's a good one, with a lot of answers to choose from. I'm a big Firefly fan so I'm gonna go with Mal and Inarra who were kinda, sorta, almost but not quite but also yes, sorta a couple. :) As to why, well I like couples that bicker and banter and are fun to watch. I like a prolonged chase with twists and turns, not the instant connection where everything's just perfect and happily ever after. Watching those two flirt and fight always made me laugh.
J.B. Rockwell EVERYTHING! Seriously, I love books and art and nature. I love daydreaming and people watching and going to movies and everything else. I just sort of soak up everything like a sponge--something things stay with me and work their way into one of my stories, others slide off my back like a duck. Inspiration is all around you, you just have to get out there and experience it.
J.B. Rockwell I like to read a little bit of everything, but when it comes to writing, I stick with speculative fiction--that's sci-fi and fantasy, mostly, plus the odd horror story here and there.
J.B. Rockwell Thanks for the question and apologies for the late response--think I need to fidget with my notifications. Anywho, the idea for SERENGETI started with a single line that sort randomly popped into my head: "She dreamed of dying, but never of death.' Like any good writer, I dutifully scribbled that down but had no idea what to do with it for a long time. Then another random idea popped into my head: what if the 'she' in this case is an AI spaceship? More scribbling (a whole LOT more in this case) and voila! SERENGETI is born!
J.B. Rockwell Hey! Thanks for the question and apologies for the late response. Yes, there is most definitely a sequel! DARK and STARS, SERENGETI Book 2 just released from Severed Press!
