Yes. Yes I am. (I was trying to announce the new book here but I obviously don't know how. If YOU know how, or want to announce it as well, please do!)

Awesome. Email me through my website (use the "contact me" button) and tell me why!

I'm so glad you are enjoying the series! That means a lot to me.
Don't worry, Fourth Estate WILL be released as a paperback and hard cover as well as ebook in December, with an audio book to follow several months later. (While you're waiting for that, you should check out my Jett Thacker mystery series and The Gamma Sequence medical thriller series. Dark Hour, book 5 of TGS is currently hovering between the top 50-80 of medical thriller books on Amazon).
And if you haven't already, please go to Dan Alatorre dot com and join my readers club so you can stay updated on all my stuff. I have some horror anthologies that are just perfect for October reading...
Thanks again for being such a loyal reader. I really appreciate it, and I am working hard to make sure Fourth Estate is even more amazing than the first three books in the Double Blind series! (Which one was your favorite so far?)

Hmm. I'm not a GoodReads expert, but if you search for the book (under my name) it should come up and you should be able to leave a review. Have you left reviews on GR before? Should be the same process... Let me now if you have more problems. We'll figure it out!

The Art Of The Deal was written in the 80s and has stood the test of time as a terrific reference book on deal making. I have read a LOT of business books and they are dry as toast. Not this one.

Probably not but I'll try:
Opened the mailbox and saw a letter from the bank. Inside, a bounced check notice!
That's about as scary as my real life gets. In fiction, it'd totally be scarier. Probably.
Hey, you didn't say it had to be good!

Any book that takes place in New Orleans. That's not technically a different world but it almost is.
I'd probably live in the world I created in The Navigators, where they have access to a time machine. Endless possibilities.
Also the world in A Song Of Fire And Ice (Game Of Thrones). While fascinating, I doubt I'd last long there!

I recently finished writing a book called The Water Castle. The idea came from an old local landmark here in Tampa, a large castle-like water tower near the river that everybody sees and ignores. Nobody seems to know the real story about it. So I made one up. It's pretty amazing, too, filled with twists and turns you will not see coming, and an amazing ending. I'm very proud of it.

I see inspiration everywhere. Also distraction.

Writing a new murder book, editing four books, writing my blog and newsletter, and staying relevant on social media. I'm not sure if a murder mystery can be a thriller and a comedy, but that's what I'm leaning toward, a la Eddie Murphy in the original 48 Hours. There was a lot of drama in that story.

Drop "aspiring" from your moniker. Write and call yourself a writer. Own it. You'll be surprised how things change when you do.

You get to tell people you're a writer. That's still considered pretty cool.

I've never had writer's block. I know that bothers some people but I'm a pretty verbose person and I feel like if I just start writing SOMETHING - even an email - the faucet gets turned on. That might actually be a good tip for stuck writers.

I'm not sure how I missed this question until now. Oops!
My favorite subject to write on is comedy, as in to write a scene or character that is funny and able to make people laugh. There's a real joy in seeing an email or post that says you made somebody laughed out loud.

Definitely. People should go where the real snow is. Like Manitoba.

That counts. Fake snow SUCKS.

That said, when my five-year-old Florida girl daughter wanted to go sled riding, we went to the closest place that had snow - fake snow - and had a blast. She won't remember that the side of the mountain wasn't covered in snow, she'll remember snowtubing down the mountain. And the hot chocolate with marshmallows. That's all that matters. ...more
