H-P Virkki During my long walks some ideas has aroused. My next book will probably be
"old school" paperback. Is it about aviation, aikido, reiki - I don't know yet - gonna keep on taking those walks and maybe some day the main idea is just pulps up from somewhere :)
H-P Virkki I have a strong belief that subconscious mind is working for my benefit. I carry with me a small notebook where I draw mind maps and write ideas which pop up when I least expect it, and when the block isn't there. Reading those notes can act as an "anchor" which brings me back to the writing state. It makes no difference whether I'm writing a book, preparing a lecture or planning an aikido seminar: to get things going, there are always the same procedures:

1. Taking a walk. I may take my jo stick (or other (practice) weapon) with me, go to a quiet place and move with it. On my page, there's a short video where I'm at a skatepark with a jo stick - it's a way for me to get the energy flowing and to find a concentrated and relaxed state.
2. Music, reading and watching movies.
3. Sticking to the daily routines and having a fixed time slot which is solely reserved for creative work.
4. Good co-workers like writers, proofreaders and other professionals who sometimes pester me (in a good way) by asking questions and giving feedback - so that I don't feel I'm all alone.
5. Just writing and not minding if it's any good...
6. Coffee and green tea :)
H-P Virkki The primary reason was my passion for movies. It took years, but I brainstormed, wrote and rewrote the book in between my stunt work assignments. That’s why the book reflects practical situations that stunts face on movie sets. Many topics discussed in the book are responses to this question: “What should my young colleagues – who may be starting out their careers – know about the professional code on a filming location?”
